Debra,
We have been busy and I just got back from leave. Everyone is here is doing well. The weather
is terribly hot, with the wind blowing its like standing in front of a hair dryer.
The boxes and items are, as always, greatly appreciated.
When I get them, the boys all line up. Thank you all. Thanks for all the
hard work and tell Nathan to get well.

Mrs. MacVittie,
I want to thank you for the kind note you sent to me, but more importantly, the letters you
share with my Troopers. You are exactly right when you said mail is the thing deployed Troops appreciate most. It helps them
to know they still have the support, thoughts and prayers of the American people, and that, in and of itself, is a motivator
and morale booster.
I appreciate you taking the time out of your schedule to recognize my Soldiers. I am in awe
of their service on a daily basis, and am honored to not only lead them, but serve alongside them. There is greatness in my
formation, and I am convinced that I lead the best fighting men and women there are. They inspire me, and I am grateful that
they inspire people such as you. Again, thank you for your support.
Respectfully, COL Dave Sutherland

Debra, Great pics from the Bradley, now all I need to do is get you in a uniform and a flight
over here.
I recieved the box of goodies and passed them out, the guys always appreciate the time and effort
you and your friends put into the packages.
The weather is getting hotter, if you could pass it along to your friends the things guys are
starting to scrounge for are drink mix packets the indiviual one that they can toss in their pockets ( Gatorade, Kool-aid,
Lemonade), and baby wipes to go along with the heat. Since it's getting so hot alot of candy will melt.
Thanks for all you do and your friends and club members also.

SSG Regis and SPC Mccllean joined me back out in sector this past week. Both are doing well.
As you can imagine the platoon has taken 2 extremely hard blows, but the character and devotion of the soldiers in my platoon
will push through it. We will finish what we have come to do and then we will lean on each other and deal with what ever arises.
Thank you and all your friends for the assistance you have given us.
I don't tell them enough, but it is my honor to serve with these young men in this time of need,
I am very proud of each and every one of them.
