This is a little background for the new song 'Hometown Hero", just to let everyone know the reason for the song and the special meaning it holds.

Dennis wrote the song as a tribute to Rickey Bell Jr., a local boy he knew from Hayti,MO.. Rickey was a soldier and while serving his country he recently lost his life in the war and the news of his death hit the small close-knit community hard.

While thinking of the family and friends and their loss, Dennis expressed his feelings in this song that he wrote one afternoon after hearing the news. The band decided to include the song on their upcoming cd and will also release the song as a single.

We also want to add that the song is also dedicated to all of the men and women that have served and are still serving this country and to the ones that have given their lives and left behind so much to defend our freedom, you are all "Hometown Heros".

So please spread the word about this song because it was written out of love and respect and we want to share it with everyone and show our support for our troops all around the world. Peace and Love.

Hometown Hero was written about Rickey Bell jr. of Caruthersville, Missouri who lost his life in Iraq on August 22, 2007. I am a singer songwriter who lives in the C'ville area. Knowing Rickey's family and watching him grow up inpired me to write this song.  I'm just proud of "Rickey" and of "Hometown Hero". It just my little way of supporting our troops!

People who have heard "Hometown Hero" say it feels like it was written for them and their loved ones who have served eventhough it was inspired by Rickey Bell Jr.

"There's a Hometown Hero coming home today,
flags are waving crowds along the way,
I hope they realize the sacrifice he made,
Hometown Hero coming home today.

There's a schoolyard full of children and they play,
just like he did another yesterday,
I wonder if they'll recognize his name,
Hometown Hero coming home today.

There's a graveyard sitting on the edge of town,
pretty flowers scattered on the ground,
I pray that someday peace will come our way,
Hometown Hero coming home today."
